With an estimated 591,473 Gold Coasters as of 2022, there is a huge opportunity to keep preloved and secondhand items out of landfills. These donations also benefit charities such as Lifeline, Vinnies, Red Cross, RSPCA, Salvos, and more. That’s because donated items are sorted and sold affordably at each respective charity’s op shop. This brings millions of dollars to these charities each year, making a significant difference in the lives of those in need.

In general, charitable organisations accept a wide range of preloved and secondhand items, as long as they’re in good condition. These items vary from organisation to organisation and may include but are not limited to:

call your local op shop and ask. They’d be happy to tell you which items they need more of and which items are unsuitable.
